Vicente Piera

Vicenç Piera i Panella (also Vicente Piera Penella; born June 11, 1903 in Barcelona, † June 14, 1960 ) was a Spanish footballer.

Piera was in his thirteen years long professional career as one of the best right winger in the history of FC Barcelona and was nicknamed La Bruja ( in German: The Witch ).

Club career

Piera was in 1921 by the Catalan club Centre d' Esports de Sants to FC Barcelona. His debut for Barça he gave in January 1917 after he played a game for the youth team of FC Barcelona in the morning. Joan Gamper was convinced of his football arts so that Piera was set up for the game of professionals in the same evening. In this game, Arenas Club de Getxo against he came in for the injured Paulino Alcántara into the game and promptly scored two goals for the 3-1 final score.

Piera played until 1934 for Barça and scored for the club, all the games together, 123 goals in 395 games. He won this time with the FC Barcelona ten times the Catalan Championship and four Spanish Cups. National team career
