Vicente Segrelles
Vicente Segrelles Sacristán ( born September 9, 1940 in Barcelona ) is a Spanish comic book artist and writer. He is known in Germany. Mainly by the comic book series El Mercenary in which a mercenary in a world of mythical creatures fighting against evil The low level of the work of Segrelles is justified by the fact that he created all drawings with oil paints instead of ink.
Life and work
Segrelles began his career as an illustrator for magazines, catalogs, manuals and advertising campaigns when he first time in 1960 illustrated a book on the works of Homer. In the following years it developed into a renowned book illustrator and graphic designer who created the comic book series El Mercenary 1980.
