Vicious (TV series)

Vicious (English vicious ~ spiteful, mean ) is a British sitcom ( Britcom ), which will be broadcast on ITV since April 29, 2013. It discusses the life of an aging gay couple who lived together for almost 50 years now and their relationship has evolved over time into a kind of love-hate relationship.

Action

Freddie Thornhill and Stuart Bixby are a gay couple for almost 50 years. When she first met Freddie an aspiring actor and Stuart worked in a bar Meanwhile, Stuart retired, while Freddie, who always had to be content only with small rollers, still trying to have success as an actor. They live together with her old dog Balthazar, who spends most of his time sleeping in an apartment in London's Covent Garden. Over the years, their relationship has increasingly become a love-hate relationship; the two consider each other informed with sarcastic comments. But when it comes down to it, they stand to each other. An integral part of their lives are their close friends Violet, Penelope and Mason, they know each other for decades, and her new neighbor, the 22 -year-old Ash.

• Ian McKellen as Freddie Thornhill: An actor who has never experienced a major breakthrough and had to be content with small roles, however, acts as if he was a big star. Although he likes to taunts against his partner, hiding under the rudeness and bitterness but true love.
• Derek Jacobi as Stuart Bixby: Former manager of a bar, the very elderly mother Mildred until the end of the first season knows nothing of his relationship with Freddie. He, too, has often only a sarcastic comment for Freddie left, but loves him also.
• Frances de la Tour as Violet Crosby: The fun-loving, free-spirited Violet is a close friend of Freddie and Stuart. Despite her age, she has a crush on their young neighbors Ash.
• Iwan Rheon as Ash Weston: The 22 -year-old, heterosexual neighbor of Freddie and Stuart, who quickly befriends after moving with his gay neighbor. He often visited the two in order to obtain for their advice for all situations.
• Marcia Warren as Penelope: An eccentric old friend of Freddie and Stuart, often a bit scattered and absentminded is.
• Philip Voss as Mason: Another old friend of Freddie and Stuart that is as sharp-tongued as the two.

Broadcast

The first season of Vicious aired six episodes between 29 April and 10 July 2013. These joined on 27 December 2013, a Christmas special.

In the German-speaking area of the pay TV channel Passion has acquired the rights and announced the appearance of the first season from April 3, 2014.

DVD Release

On November 20, 2013, the first season was released in Region 2 on DVD.
