Vicky Featherstone

Vicky Featherstone ( born April 5, 1967 in Redhill, Surrey ) is a British film director and theater director.

Life

Vicky Featherstone studied drama at the University of Manchester. From 1997 to 2005 she was artistic director of the independent theater company Paines Plough, which brings new pieces to the stage and therefore goes from London on tour. She produced her among other Crazy Gary's Mobile Disco by Gary Owen, Splendour ' by Abi Morgan, Sleeping Around by Mark Ravenhill and Stephen Greenhorn and the world premiere of Crave by Sarah Kane at the Edinburgh Festival. In 2006 she became director of the newly founded National Theatre of Scotland, which operates from Glasgow without a solid house. Under her direction, the play Black Watch by Gregory Burke was brought out in the first year at the Edinburgh Festival, which deals with the use of the eponymous Scottish regiment in Iraq war.

In May 2013, it took over the directorship of London's Royal Court Theatre.

Featherstone is married and has two children.
