Victor Amaya

Victor Amaya ( born July 2, 1954 in Denver) is a former American professional tennis player.

Career

Amaya started his tennis career in 1973. As a single player, he won three tournaments. He was more successful in doubles with Hank Pfister. Together they won the 1980 French Open in four sets against Brian Gottfried and Raúl Ramírez 1982 and reached the final of the U.S. Open, which went against lost Kevin Curren and Steve Denton in five sets. Overall, he won six tournaments in a double and reached the beginning of 1983 with number 16 his highest placing in the tennis world rankings.
