Victor Hermann Balke

Victor Hermann Balke ( born September 29, 1931 in Meppen ( Illinois)) is retired bishop of Crookston.

Life

Victor Hermann Balke received on May 24, 1958, ordained priest for the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois.

Pope Paul VI. appointed him on July 7, 1976 for the Bishop of Crookston. He received his episcopal consecration of the Archbishop of Saint Paul and Minneapolis, John Robert Roach, on 2 September of the same year; Joseph Alphonse McNicholas were co-consecrators, Bishop of Springfield in Illinois, and William Aloysius O'Connor, Bishop Emeritus of Springfield in Illinois.
