Victor Stănculescu

Victor Atanasie Stănculescu ( born May 10, 1928 in Tecuci ) is a former Romanian military and politicians.

In 1968, during the Prague Spring, he was promoted to brigadier general. He played a central role during the Romanian Revolution of 1989, by finally no longer obeyed the commands of the Romanian dictator Nicolae Ceauşescu. His inaction allowed the numerous demonstrators against the dominant regime citizens to take control in the capital Bucharest.
