Video Encoded Invisible Light

Video Encoded Invisible Light, abgek. VEIL ( veil engl. Veil, concealment ), is a copy protection method for moving images, which is to prevent the filming of copyrighted movies from a monitor. It is considered, VEIL use discs with HD movies on HD DVDs and Blu -ray.

The principle is based on specific, virtually invisible to the human eye hidden picture markers (luminance signal) and provides in particular that all video cameras future generations review their image information recorded in a tightly embedded chip permanently on those significant markers out; such a marker is detected, the camera would refuse to record or data output.

This assumes, would that all manufacturers of video cameras subjugate the world and a corresponding commitment to equip all cameras accordingly. An analogous approach was also aimed at the copy of notes on certain patterns in combination with hardware and software mechanisms. A single model in the world that has not implemented the protection mechanism, ranging from theoretical to undermine the protection concept and to make ineffective the protection.
