Vidova Gora

The Vidova gora ( = mountain Gora, literally Croatian for Vitus mountain ) on the island of Brač in central Dalmatia ( Croatian coast ) is 778 meters. i J. the highest mountain of all Croatian islands.

The Summit provides a wide panoramic view to the southeast to west on the island of Hvar and other Dalmatian islands.

Ascent from the seaside resort of Bol, the (Golden Horn ) is by the isthmus Zlatni Rat and run to the daily hydrofoils from Split. Access is also possible via forth a small road from the north.

On the undulating plateau in the northeast of the mountain is a small airfield, which was built during the Croatian war when the fighting to the nearby city of Dubrovnik tourism brought to a standstill.
