Vidsel Test Range

The Vidsel Missile Test Range (Swedish: Robotförsöksplats Norrland, RFN ) is a test site in northern Sweden for aircraft and missiles, near the town Vidsel. The test site is in operation since 1958 and part of the Vidsel Test Range. It is divided into the base with airfield (2300 m runway ) and a 40 km distant restricted area with about 1650 km ², are also in the sharp weapons tests carried out. The entire surrounding airspace is locked.

All military aircraft of the Swedish military ( Saab Draken, Saab 37 Viggen, Saab 39 Gripen ) were tested on this basis.
