Vieux-Condé

Vieux- Condé (Latin Via Condatum ) is a French town with 10,172 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Nord in the Nord-Pas -de- Calais region near the Belgian border.

Between 1751 and 1983, coal was mined in this city, so the city has an old mining tradition. During World War II the city was heavily damaged by a bomb attack, especially the city center. So this had to be completely neuaufgebaut.

Vieux- Condé is twinned with low ornamental and Bleicherode. It is located in the Regional Natural Park Scarpe- Escaut (French Parc naturel régional Scarpe -Escaut ).
