Viga (Catanduanes)

Viga is a Philippine municipality of the island province of Catanduanes. It has 20,669 inhabitants ( census May 1, 2010 ) living in 31 barangays. The community is described as partly urban and belongs to the fourth income class municipalities in the Philippines. Viga is located about 365 km southeast of the capital of the Philippines Manila and 35 km northeast of the provincial capital Virac.

Viga has a topography hilly to mountainous described in which the nature and water reserve Catanduanes Watershed Forest Reserve, with its vast rain forests.

Climate of Viga is classified as Type II, with no pronounced dry or wet season, the highest rainfall occurs from October to December. The community is located within the Typhongürtels in the Philippines.
