Vikantice

Vikantice ( German Weigelsdorf ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located eight kilometers northeast of Hanušovice and belongs to Okres Šumperk.

Geography

Vikantice is located on the southwestern foot of the Altvater Mountains in the historic Gold Steiner boiler. To the east rises the Stolny hřbet ( Stolle ridge, 882 m ) southeast of the Losin (deer stone, 726 m) and Peklo ( 649 m), in the south of Rudny vrch ( Erzberg, 628 m ) southwest of the Vikantický vrch ( Weigel mountain, 637 m ) and in the northwest of Dvorsky vrch ( Hofberg, 702 m).

Neighboring towns are Šléglov in the north, Branná, Dolce and Přední Alojzov in the Northeast, Nova Branná and Františkov in the east, Nové Losiny in the southeast, Pleče and Rudkov in the south, Habartice and Vysoke Žibřidovice the southwest, Chrastice in the west and Štěpánov and Staré Město in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village belonging to the reign Goldstein took place in 1437th

After the abolition of patrimonial Weigelsdorf / Vigantice formed with the hamlets Bergthal reason and rabbits Dörfl 1850 a municipality in the district of Moravian Schönberg. Weigel village consisted of 99 houses in 1900 and had 684 German -speaking inhabitants. In Weigelsdorf graphite mining was carried out. In 1930 the community had 861 inhabitants. After the Munich Agreement Weigelsdorf 1938 was added to the German Reich and belonged until 1945 to the district Moravian Schönberg. 1939 831 people lived in the village. After the end of the Second World War, the German inhabitants were expelled. In 1950 the incorporation of Šléglov and Kronfelzov. From 1975 to 1990, the village belonged to Branná. In 1990, the municipality Vikantice emerged with the district Šléglov. At the beginning of 1992 Šléglov broke up with Kronfelzov and formed its own community. The number of inhabitants in the municipality continues to decline, in the resort, there are no jobs.
