Viktor Kuzkin

Viktor Grigoryevich Kuskin (Russian Виктор Григорьевич Кузькин; born July 6, 1940 in Moscow, Russian SFSR, † June 24, 2008 in Sochi, Russia) was a Soviet ice hockey player who was inducted into the IIHF Hall of Fame in 2005.

Career

Kuskin began his professional career in 1958 at HK CSKA Moscow in the Russian Hockey League, where he was for 18 years until his retirement in late 1976, remained. In the 530 league games, the defender scored 71 hits. He was 13 times Soviet Champion, bringing with CSKA seven European titles. For All-Star team in the league he belonged twice and in 1963 he was described as " USSR ZMS " (about " deserving sports champion" ) awarded. For the Soviet national ice hockey team he was 173 times on the ice and scored 19 goals in that time. With the Soviet Union he was eight times World Champion and one vice-champion. At Olympic Games he won the USSR three times the gold medal (1964, 1968 and 1972 ). After his playing career he became a coach at CSKA Moscow. On the edge of the Ice Hockey World Championship for Men 2005, he was honored with induction into the IIHF Hall of Fame. As early as 1963 he was accepted into the Russian and Soviet Hockey Hall of Fame.

Kuskin died in June 2008 during a dive in the Black Sea.
