Viktor Mamatov

Viktor Fyodorovich Mamatow (Russian Виктор Фёдорович Маматов; born July 21, 1937 in Belovo, Kemerovo Oblast ) is a retired Russian biathlete biathlon coach and sports official.

At the World Championships in 1967 Marmatow fetched in a single 20 kilometers of the gold medal in the relay and the silver medal. A year later he won the relay gold medal at the 1968 Olympic Winter Games in Grenoble. Also at the World Championships in 1969, 1970 and 1971, he was victorious in the relay. Another Season gold medal came at the Olympic Winter Games in 1972 added in Sapporo.

After ending his sports career Mamatow worked from 1973 to 1976 as head coach of the Soviet national biathlon team. He was then to 1981 Rector of sports school in Novosibirsk. From 1981 to 1985, he coached the national biathlon team a second time. Marmatow from 1989 to 1992, the last president of the Soviet Biathlon Federation, then by 1998 the Russian Biathlon Association vice president. In addition, he belonged from 1994 to 2002 the National Olympic Committee of Russia. 1998 and 2002 he worked as team manager of the Russian biathletes at the Olympic Winter Games.
