Viktor Szilágyi [ viktor sila ː ɟi ] ( born September 16, 1978 in Budapest) is an Austrian handball player of Hungarian origin. He plays at the Bergische HC in the backcourt.

Career

At the age of seven years he held at Union St. Pölten in Austria for the first time a hand ball between your hands. His father István Szilágyi is 200x Hungarian national team and was until Summer 2013 coach of the Austrian first division club IHC Krems.

He played in the Handball - Bundesliga, among others, for TSV Bayer Dormagen and the TUSEM food. After the refusal of a license for food, he came before the season 2005/ 06 to Kiel, where he but hardly used because of lengthy injuries. From the 2008/09 bis 2009/10 season Szilágyi played for VfL Gummersbach. On 21 December 2007 he signed the contract with the Oberbergi.

Since the 2010/11 season he played for the SG Flensburg -Handewitt. In summer 2012, he joined the second division Bergischer HC, with which he ascended to the first division in 2013.

His debut in the Austrian national team, he was on 16 February 1998 against Lithuania. Since then, he was at 182 games with one of the party, so at the European Championships in 2014.
