Viktoria Postnikova

Viktoriya Valentinovna Postnikowa (Russian Виктория Валентиновна Постникова; born January 12, 1944 in Moscow) is a Russian pianist. She is since 1969 the wife and regular concert and recording partner of the conductor Gennady Nikolayevich Rozhdestvensky.

Postnikowa was trained at the Moscow Conservatory and took in the 1960s in numerous international competitions ( Chopin Competition 1965, International Pianoforte Competition Leeds1966, Tchaikovsky Competition 1970), in which she did not win, however. In 2004 she was honored as the " Russian national artist ".

Postnikowas game stands out for its particularly hard stop. This will benefit you and Alfred Schnittke's Piano Concerto No. 2 Concerto for Piano and Strings in the interpretation of such works as Sergei Sergeyevich Prokofiev. Postnikowa is so far the only pianist who has recorded all five piano concertos of Prokofiev.
