Tulevik Viljandi

The Viljandi Linnastaadion is a football and athletics stadium in Viljandi, Estonia. The football club plays its home games Tulevik Viljandi from here.

The stadium is located directly on Lake Viljandi. It has a capacity of about 2,000 spectators. This is divided into 1,000 standing and 1,000 seats. The seats are located only on a long side. There are five or six rows of seats wooden benches.

The playing surface has a size of 102 mx 68 m.

In 1928 started the construction of the stadium, the opening took place in 1932 or 1933. 1960 and 1989, the stadium was reconstructed. As of 2007 no longer corresponds to the stadium UEFA guidelines. It must therefore be held no international games.

For 2008, a new stadium is planned. It is to receive 2,000 seats and get a new football field and new athletics track.

The Estonian national football team has played twice in Linnastaadion. The premiere took place against Azerbaijan, on June 4, 1997. Estonia won 1-0. The second and so far last game took place on 29 June 1998 against Lithuania and finished 0-0. Both games were friendlies.

The highest number of visitors experienced the stadium during an annual event run by the Viljandi Lake. This fun run is one of the largest in Estonia. Up to 2,500 spectators watched the finish line in the stadium.

At a League of Tulevik Viljandi usually appear between 100 and 200 spectators.
