Villagers (band)

The Villagers are an Irish band around singer-songwriter Conor J. O'Brien.

Formation

O'Brien founded the band in 2008 after his previous project The Immediate had separated in the spring of 2007. The Immediate were regarded as Irish junior hoping her 2006 published debut album In Towers and Clouds, which has been called " one of the best Irish debut albums of the last twenty years," received a nomination for the Choice Music Awards, the band appeared also in the Meteor Awards on. Nevertheless, they gave in May 2007 their resolution known and reasoned that " fundamental differences". O'Brien later said that the band did not fit into the life plans of two of its members. He himself began shortly after the separation, to play in Cathy Davey live band guitar.

In February 2008, then O'Brien released the EP Hollow child with four titles, which he had recorded alone. Then he put together a band that completed a series of live performances in the second half.

In April 2011, appeared on the one in the United Kingdom, the live album Live at the Workman's Club, the United States appeared to coincide with the title Set the Tigers Free / Memoir a split EP with Charlotte Gainsbourg.
