Villanderer Berg

Villanderer mountain from the east, after fresh snow fall

The Villanderer mountain ( 2509 m asl ), which was formerly called Zwölfernock, is the southernmost high mountain peaks in the eastern crest of the Sarntaler Alps. Together with the south upstream Sarner saddle ( 2460 m slm ) shows the mountain 's more impressive side in the direction of the Western Sarntal, where he breaks off with powerful, almost vertical porphyry walls. To the east, the Eisacktal out the mountain on the other hand lowers slightly downwards to the Villa Santander pastures. To the east of the summit are also the Totensee and the dead church.

In recent years, the mountain of the east side was touristy further developed. In addition to the Gasser Hut and Mair in Plum and the cattle square was opened. These mountain huts and a jogging path, and the expansion of the road from Vill Anders and the construction of parking lots increased the number of visitors on the mountain. 2005, a larger memory pool was built at the Gasserhütte to sufficiently ensure the adjacent farmers water to irrigate their fields.
