Villazón

Villazón is a town in the Potosí Department in the South American Andes State of Bolivia. The city was founded on May 20, 1910, after the then Bolivian President, Heliodorus Villazón, named.

Villazón is the central place of the district ( bolivian: Municipio) Villazón in the province of Modesto Omiste. The city is located in the south of Bolivia at an altitude of 3450 m on the border with Argentina on the left bank of the Río Sochora, one of the headwaters of the Río Pilcomayo. Villazón is located in the southern part of the barren plateau of the Bolivian Altiplano. Economy
