Vimbodí i Poblet

Vimbodí i Poblet is a Catalan municipality in the province of Tarragona, in northeastern Spain. It is located in the comarca of Conca de Barbera.

Vimbodí has always been closely linked to the Cistercian monastery of Poblet. It was founded in 1151 by Ramon Berenguer IV, Count of Barcelona within the boundaries of the present-day village.

The place was until 2006 only the name " Vimbodí ".

Vimbodí i Poblet maintains a partnership with the French town of Saint -Maurice- la- Souterraine.
