Vincenzo Viviani
Vincenzo Viviani ( born April 5, 1622 Florence, † September 22, 1703 ibid ) was Italian mathematician and physicist.
Life
1639, he joined the staff of Galileo Galilei. He wrote the first biography of him. Furthermore, he reconstructed writings of Archimedes and Euclid. 1661, he went through the later so- called Foucault's pendulum experiment, which was almost 200 years later repeated by Foucault and then named after this. In 1666 he became the court mathematician to the Grand Duke Ferdinand II
