Vini Poncia
Vincent " Vini " Poncia, Jr. ( born April 29, 1942) is an American songwriter and music producer.
Life
1960s
In the 1960s, Poncia began with Peter Anders a songwriting partner shank. Together they released 1969 produced by Richard Perry album The Anders and Poncia Album. Her songs have been recorded and interpreted, among others, The Ronettes, Bobby Bloom and Darlene Love. Anders and Poncia also were members of the groups The Trade Winds and The Innocence. The debut single by The Tradewinds, New York is a Lonely Town, 1966 reached number 32 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts.
In 1968 Anders and Poncia along with Frankie Maluso MAP Records in New York City. The company owned a small recording studio, which occurred up to the end of the joint work sixteen albums.
1970s
In the 1970s, Poncia songwriting partner of Ringo Starr. His songs were heard on several albums: Ringo (1973 ) Goodnight Vienna (1974 ) Ringo's Rotogravure (1976) Ringo the 4th (1977 ), and Bad Boy (1978). He also produced albums for Melissa Manchester and Portrait by Lynda Carter. As a songwriter, he wrote for Jackie DeShannon and Tommy James and he is also listed as a co- author of the song You Make Me Feel Like Dancing by Leo Sayer, and was a producer of albums Open Your Eyes and The Faraghers by The Faragher Brothers.
In 1978 he produced the self-titled solo album by Peter Criss, and was also engaged in the sequence to produce the 1979 album Dynasty published the group Kiss. Poncia is next to Paul Stanley and Desmond Child co-author of the decoupled from that album hit single I Was Made for Lovin 'You and the title Sure Know Something and Dirty Livin'.
1980s
Poncia also produced the 1980 released album Kiss Unmasked, 1981, the second album of the group Tycoon, Turn Out The Lights. A year later, he reunited with Peter Criss when he produced his second arisen after the separation of Kiss album Let Me Rock You. He also produced a native of Detroit band adrenaline, their song Road of the Gypsy in 1985 part of the soundtrack for the feature film was Iron Eagle. His last known work was in the co- songwriting with five titles of 1989 appeared Kiss album Hot in the Shade.
Achievements
Of the Ponica written by an author or co -author of titles made it into the U.S. twelve songs on the Billboard Hot 100, eight of which were Top 40 hits, while two titles top ten hits were. Only one song managed to reach number one on the Billboard singles charts: You Make Me Feel like Dancing. In the UK, Poncia was less successful: Ten top 100 titles, six Top 40 - and a Top Ten hit ( You Make Me Feel like Dancing ) over, reached number one none of Poncias titles.
