Violeta Urmana

Violeta Mana (* 1961 in Jure at Kazlų Rūda, district Marijampolė ) is a Lithuanian opera singer in the vocal range mezzo-soprano and dramatic soprano.

Life and artistic work

Violeta Mana studied piano at the Conservatory in Vilnius. A year before her graduation as a pianist, she began vocal studies, she continued at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich Astrid Varnay. From 1991 to 1993 she was a member of the Opera Studio of the Bavarian State Opera, where she was asked to sing smaller role soon.

The artist has received numerous awards in international singing competitions. Was quickly followed by offers of the major international opera houses. The acquisition of the lot of the Madeleine di Coigny in the opera Andrea Chénier at the Vienna State Opera in June 2003 marked her change of subject from mezzo-soprano to dramatic soprano, she March 2004 in Rome as Isolde ( Tristan and Isolde ) and the fall of 2004 as Leonora (La Forza del Destino ) took place in London.
