Vipul's Razor

Vipul 's Razor is a checksum - based, distributed, shared e- mail spam detection and filtering network. It is available as free software under the Artistic License.

Razor is based on a distributed spam catalog, which is updated by user feedback. E -mail clients and servers can filter known as spam. The detection is performed using statistical and randomized signatures. The user feedback is weighted by a feedback rating system: users get a reputation that evaluates the reliability of their responses. Reputation is adjusted based on feedback ( matching ).

Vipul 's Razor is written in Perl and is mainly developed by Vipul Ved Prakash.

Razor is - although suitable just for e -mail clients - currently mainly server-side spam filters used (eg SpamAssassin ).

A commercial offshoot of Razor, which uses the same network, Cloudmark Desktop, which is available as a plugin for Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express and Mozilla Thunderbird.
