Virginia Cherrill
Virginia Cherrill ( born April 12, 1908 in Carthage, Illinois, † November 14, 1996 in Santa Barbara, California ) was an American actress.
Life
Her film debut was in 1931 as the blind flower girl on the side of Charles Chaplin in City Lights. She was honored with a star on the Walk of Fame. In 1936, she retired into private life.
Cherrill was from 1934 to 1935, the first wife of Cary Grant, for her it was the second marriage. Her third husband was from 1937 to 1946 George Child -Villiers, 9th Earl of Jersey. In fourth marriage, she was married from 1948 until her death with Florian Martini; they lived in Santa Barbara ( California). They had no children.
