Virtual Library of Musicology

The Virtual Library of Musicology, short ViFaMusik is one of the German Research Foundation (DFG ) funded project to provide resources and materials for music and musicology. It is since July 2005, along with the State Institute for Music Research in Berlin and the Society for Music Research developed and expanded at the Bavarian State Library.

Offers and objectives

ViFaMusik, the central information portal for music and musicology, provides a comprehensive and quick access to scientific research, as well as an extensive range of specialist information and Internet resources. With a single search you researched simultaneously in a variety of detection instruments and databases that include not only bibliographic data and information to scientists and research projects as well as current deadlines. This valuable materials from the holdings of the Bavarian State Library are taken into account on the one hand, which can be regarded as digitized work online users, as well as sources and databases from external providers.

In order to facilitate the access of valuable, rare and important materials in music a broad scientific audience, is the continued expansion of ViFaMusik by numerous sources in planning.
