Viscount Colville of Culross

Viscount Colville of Culross, in the County of Perth, is a British hereditary title of nobility in the Peerage of the United Kingdom, which is run by the family Colville.

Award

The title was for Charles Colville, 10th Lord Colville of Culross, created in 1902. This was a well-known conservative politician and served on the board of various railway companies. In addition, he has held several important positions at court.

Subordinate title

An ancestor of the first viscount, an eminent soldier of his time, had been raised already in 1604 to Lord Colville of Culross. This title belongs to the peerage of Scotland.

The first Viscount was already in 1885 the dignity of a Baron Colville of Culross, was in the County of Perth, granted. By this title he was given a seat in the House of Lords. It belongs to the Peerage of the United Kingdom.
