Visions Fugitives

The Visions fugitives op 22 ( German: Volatile phenomena ) are a collection of 20 short pieces for piano by Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev ( 1891-1953 ). They were written 1915-1917 and are based on a poem by the Russian poet Konstantin Balmont ( 1867-1942 ), who wrote in a verse:

"In every fleeting appearance I see worlds, full of the interplay of the colors of the rainbow ... "
