Vitaly Nikolaevich Kolesnik (Russian Виталий Николаевич Колесник; born August 20, 1979 in Ust- Kamenogorsk, Kazakh SSR ) is a Kazakh professional ice hockey goaltender, who plays since May 2012 to Lokomotiv Yaroslavl in the Kontinental Hockey League.

Career

Club

Vitaly Kolesnik began his career in 1995 in the second Russian league in Kaszink - Torpedo Ust -Kamenogorsk. In 2005 he moved to the Colorado Avalanche, where he graduated from eight games in the National Hockey League. More station within the 2005/06 season was the farm team of the avalanche, the Lowell Lock Monsters of the American Hockey League. In 2006 he was engaged by Atlant Mytischtschi for three seasons. On his next club Salavat Yulaev Ufa of Russia, the goalkeeper stood from 2009 under contract and won with this team in 2011 the Gagarin Cup, the championship trophy of the KHL.

In June 2012, Kolesnik signed a contract for two years duration to Lokomotiv Yaroslavl.

National

For Kazakhstan Kelesnik finished sixth at the 1999 U -20 World Cup. Subsequently, he was appointed the first time at the World Cup in 2001, when the Kazakhs were playing in Division I in the national team of men, but did not at the tournament in Ljubljana to use one. This changed in 2002 ( three inserts) and 2003 ( four inserts), as he and his team to five wins in five games in the top division rose. There he played at the World Championships in 2004 and 2005.
