Vitaly Daraselia

Vitaly Kuchinowitsch Darasselia (Georgian ვიტალი დარასელია; Russian Виталий Кухинович Дараселия; born October 9, 1957 in Ochamchyra, Abkhaz ASSR, Georgian SSR, † December 13, 1982 at Zestaponi, Georgian SSR) was a Soviet football player Georgian- Abkhazian origin.

Life and career

Vitaly Darasselias birthplace lies in Abkhazia, Darasselias mother was even Abkhazian origin, his father Mingrelians, a Georgian ethnicity.

After starting out at Amirani Ochamchyra in his hometown, Darasselia was born in 1975 to a large club Dinamo Tbilisi. With his new club, he became Soviet champion in 1978 and in the years 1976 and 1979 and the Soviet Cup winner. In the season 1980/1981 he won with Dinamo Tbilisi the European Cup Winners' Cup, in the final against FC Carl Zeiss Jena Darasselia scored the decisive goal for the 2-1 final score.

Between 1979 and 1982, played for the Soviet national team Darasselia 22 games and scored three goals, he took part in the 1982 World Cup in Spain.

Darasselia died in December 1982 at age 25 in a car accident in Zestaponi. His son Vitaly junior (born 1978 ) proposed later also a career as a football player, and came to some operations in the Georgian national team.
