Vladimir Chagin

Vladimir Gennadievich Chagin (Russian: Владимир Геннадиевич Чагин; born January 5, 1970 in Nytwa ) is a former Russian rally raid driver.

Chagin drove a truck of the Kamaz plant teams. In 1990 he first took part in the Dakar Rally, but had to retire prematurely. Even in his next three appearances in the years 1992, 1994 and 1995 Chagin could not reach the goal. His first finish came in 1996 with a sixth place in the truck standings. After a second failure in 1998, he was second overall in the Dakar Rally 1999. Chagin 2000 recorded his first victory. After he re- recorded a loss in the following year, get the Kamaz factory driver in the years 2002 to 2004, three overall victories in a row. 2005 Chagin was due to technical problems only 18, followed in 2006 the now fifth Dakar victory. In 2007, crashed Chagin, with the diesel injection as he wanted to get lost time for problems.
