Vladimir Kim

Vladimir Sergeyevich Kim (also Vladimir Kim wrote; Russian Владимир Сергеевич Ким; born October 29, 1960 in Myrsakent, South Kazakhstan Oblast, Kazakh SSR ) is a Kazakh billionaire and entrepreneur. He is also the majority shareholder in the company Kazakhmys. According to Forbes Magazine, his personal fortune is estimated at about 4.7 billion U.S. dollars, Kim is thus the richest person in Kazakhstan.

Life

Vladimir Kim was then part of the Soviet Union was born in 1961 in Myrsakent, in the south of present-day Kazakhstan. Both parents are members of the Korean minority in the former Soviet Union (known as Korjo - Saram ). After Kim had completed his education, he held various political offices in the then Communist Party of the Soviet Union in Alma- Ata. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, he studied abroad, including Germany, Switzerland, South Korea and the United States. In 2002, he joined the Kazakh ruling party only at Otan.

From 1992 to 1997 he headed the joint venture " Kazakhstan - Samsung" and was also active in the management of other companies.
