Vladimir Menshov
Vladimir Valentinovich Menshov (Russian: Владимир Валентинович Меньшов; born September 17, 1939 in Baku, USSR ) is a Russian actor, director, film producer and screenwriter. He has the awards Honored Artist of the RSFSR and People 's Artist of Russia. Outside Russia, he was first launched in 1979 by his Oscar - winning film Moscow believes do not know the tears.
Biography
Vladimir Menshov was born in the Azerbaijani capital Baku in an originating in Astrakhan Russian family. His father Valentin (1912-1974) worked for the Soviet secret service NKVD. In 1947 he had to move his family for reasons of service to Archangel in northern Russia. There also Vladimir went to school until the family moved in 1950 to Astrakhan. There, he graduated from the school with honors, and then went to Moscow, where he at the renowned Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography - wanted to start studying - also called WGIK. However, he was initially prepared for the entrance exams inadequate. He then went to Astrakhan back, worked for four years in a factory and was preparing for a new start before. In 1961 he succeeded finally, take a drama course at the school of Chekhov Art Theater.

The two have a daughter named Julia (born 1969 ) who is also an actress and had played in the 1990s, among others, in Chekhov Art Theater. Since 2003 Menshov is a member of the United Russia party.
