Vladimir Resin

Vladimir Iosifovich Ressin (Russian: Владимир Иосифович Ресин; scientific transliteration Vladimir Resin Iosifovič; born February 21, 1936 in Minsk ) is a Russian politician.

Life

After completing a degree in Business at the Moscow Mining Institute in 1958 Ressin worked in coal mines, before he moved to Moscow municipal Construction Mosinschstroi 1962. From 1974 to 1987 he was director of this operation until 1990 Head or Deputy Head of other construction companies.

Since 1980 Ressin was also politically active, first as a member of the Rajonsowjets of the Moscow municipality Kunzewo, then from 1981 to 1990 as a deputy of the Moscow City Soviet. In 1991 he became Deputy Prime Minister, 1992 First Deputy Prime Minister of the Moscow city government. He is also Chairman of the Baudepartements since 1992 the city government. 2001 he was appointed First Deputy Mayor of Moscow.

With the dismissal of longtime mayor Yury Luzhkov by President Dmitry Medvedev on September 28, 2010 Ressin took office as acting. On October 5, he announced his entry into the Kremlin United Russia party. On 21 October 2010 Sergei Sobyanin was elected mayor of Moscow.

Vladimir Resin is married and has one daughter.
