Vladimir Zografski

Vladimir Emilow Sografski ( Bulgarian Владимир Емилов Зографски; * July 14, 1993 in Samokov ) is a Bulgarian ski jumper.

Career

Sografskis first international assignment was in Zakopane in the FIS Cup on 17 February 2007. He finished in 30th place, reaching the second round. The next day he came in 43rd place. At the Junior World Championships in Tarvisio ( Italy) on 15 March 2007, he finished 62nd. In the summer of 2007, the first missions followed in the Continental Cup, where he always clear the second round missed. Also in the 2007/ 08 season he jumped predominantly in the Continental Cup, but could never reach the second round and finished at the Junior World Cup in Zakopane in the 54th individual and as a team to 13th place. In the summer of 2008 he was able to achieve his best result with a 4th place in the FIS Cup. This summer he was able to jump twice in the points in the Continental Cup. In the same season Sografski participated for the first time in the Ski Jumping World Cup. Also in 2008 he won the Bulgarian Ski Championships in his hometown .. In the 2008 /09 season he also jumped for the first time in the World Cup. His best finish here was a 43rd place in December 2008 in Pragelato. At the Junior World Championships in Štrbské Pleso, he finished 58th. At the World Championships in Liberec, Czech Republic, he took on the normal hill the 43rd. Before jumping on the big hill he contracted a disease and therefore could not jump. In the summer of 2009 he was able to achieve in Klingenthal with the 37th place, the best result of his career so far in the World Cup. The next winter he was able to qualify for a jump in the World Cup twice. In Continental, he managed in this winter is almost always in the second round and three times he even came into the top ten. At the Junior World Championships in Hinterzarten on 28 January 2010 he took surprising seventh place.

To kick off the Summer Grand Prix 2010 he took as 17 points for the first time in this competition series. The second individual event in Courchevel, he reached the fifth place his best result to date in the Summer Grand Prix. Then he let out the remaining jumping Summer Grand Prix, except the last in Klingenthal. Again he took as 29 World Cup points. At the end, he finished with 61 points 33rd place overall. Also in the Continental reach him good results. In Almaty, he also reached the podium. Sografski was twice second. At the end, he finished in this series 5th place in the overall standings.

On 17 December 2010 he won in Engelberg with the 28th place first World Cup points. Even two days later, he became the 23 World Cup points. Also at the Four Hills Tournament, he could reach the final round with 16th place in Oberstdorf and 19th place in Garmisch -Partenkirchen. In Innsbruck, however, he was disqualified and in Bischofshofen he missed the second passage. At the Junior World Championships 2011 at the Estonian Otepaeae he won the gold medal in the individual competition.

In the new season, Sografski improved further and took eighth place in the World Cup competition on December 3, 2011 in Lillehammer for the first time a top ten placement. In February 2012, he was elected Bulgarian young athletes of the year prior to the canoeists Bojan Mihailov and the tennis player Dimitar Kusmanow.
