Vogtländisches Oberland

Vogtländisches Oberland was a municipality in the southern part of the Thuringian district Greiz. The seat of the municipality was located in the district Pöllwitz. It was founded in 1999 and dissolved in 2012.

The parish was in the Vogtland, in the Thuringian Slate Mountains.

Neighboring communities

Adjacent municipalities in the district Greiz were Langenwetzendorf and the cities Greiz and Zeulenroda. In the south, the border with the Free State of Saxony, bordering the Vogtland district belonging to the towns of Plauen, Magpie Mountain, Pausa / Vogtl. and the communities Rosenbach / Vogtl. and Poehl on.

History

The community Vogtländisches Oberland came on 1 July 1999 by the merger of the villages Pöllwitz, Bernsgrün, Arnsgrün, Cossengrün, scorn village and Schoenbach, members of the Management Community Vogtländisches Oberland were before.

Due to the small size, a merger was planned for some time. In a plebiscite on 12 February 2006, a majority in favor of a merger with the community Langenwetzendorf spoke out. However, the merger failed at the first attempt after the councilors could not agree on a common community name. In the second attempt, they decided on the name " Langenwetzendorf ", the merger was approved by the Council of the municipality Vogtländisches Oberland on March 22, 2007. However, a citizens' initiative against the proposed merger spoke aus.Letztlich the merger plans were withdrawn on 10 February 2009.

At the meeting of 4 October 2011, the council finally decided to disband. It thereby two variants were applied: Once (variant "old county boundaries " ) is divided the community between the cities Greiz and Zeulenroda, in the other variant (variant " citizens will" ) also gets the community Langenwetzendorf some districts. The Thuringian State Government decided to use the variant "old county boundaries ." As of December 31, 2012, community Vogtländisches Oberland was resolved by:

  • The districts Cossengrün, scorn village ( with Gablau, Leiningen, Pansdorf and Tremnitz ) and Schönenbach and the area of the district Eubenberg Arnsgrün were incorporated into the city Greiz.
  • The districts Arnsgrün ( with Büna, but without Eubenberg ) Bernsgrün ( with Frotschau and Schönbrunn ) and Pöllwitz ( with Dobia and Wolfshain ) were incorporated into the city Zeulenroda.
