Geography

Vöhringen lies on the eastern edge of the Black Forest in Korngäu, 491-682 meters in height, five kilometers from Sulz am Neckar and twelve miles of Oberndorf am Neckar.

Community structure

The municipality consists of the villages Vöhringen Vöhringen and Vöhringen - Wittershausen, both of which are spatially identical to the previous communities Vöhringen and Wittershausen. In the district Vöhringen - Wittershausen a village is set in the sense of Baden-Württemberg municipal code with private Ortschaftsrat and mayor as its chairman. The village has its own local administrative body under the name of " community Vöhringen, local government Wittershausen ".

History

However, the Vöhringer mountian is ancient settlement area; demonstrated to the Neolithic period. For the first time Vöhringen was mentioned in the year 772 in a deed of the Lorsch codex. Men of the village were the Dukes of Teck. 1306 was the place to the county Württemberg. Vöhringen belonged to the Duchy of Württemberg to Oberamt Rosenfeld. Religions

Economy and infrastructure
