Voima (newspaper)

Voima (Eng. "power" or "strength" ) is a national social criticism, Finnish newspaper in tabloid format. Content deal out the articles in the newspaper social and cultural issues, often for the purposes of counter-culture and from an urban perspective.

Voima is distributed free and funded primarily through advertisements. Of the approximately 700 delivery locations, about half is in the Helsinki capital region, other priorities are in Tampere and Turku. As delivery places are bookstores, libraries, movie theaters, bus stations, cafes, colleges, theaters and museums. The circulation is 70,000.

The first issue appeared in December 1999, since 2000 Voima is published ten times a year. In 2001, the editors of Voima the State Prize of Information Publication ( Tiedonjulkistamisen valtionpalkinto ) was excellent.

Since 2007 Voima published in Finland, the French newspaper Le Monde diplomatique.
