Volkmar Groß

Volkmar Groß ( born January 31, 1948 in Berlin ) is a former German football goalkeeper.

Gross, who was previously also active for Hertha Zehlendorf in Berlin, played early in his career for Hertha BSC. As Hertha he debuted on November 22, 1970 in Athens, in a 3-1 win in the Test match against Greece. It was his only use for the DFB, especially since he was a short time later implicated in the Bundesliga scandal. He was locked in this context, on 21 June 1972 to June 20, 1974 by the DFB and sentenced to a fine of $ 15,000. He then moved in 1972 to South Africa for Hellenic FC ( Cape Town ) and 1974 of the Dutch first division side FC Twente, for which he stood in the two UEFA Cup finals against Borussia Mönchengladbach in 1975 at the gate.
