Volumetric heat capacity

The heat storage with the physical unit J / ( m³ · K) is the volume-based heat capacity of a solid. It is calculated from the specific heat capacity by multiplying by the density.

Example of structural steel:

The heat storage is an important property of insulation. Furthermore, in the design of heat sinks constant construction volume the heat storage is a critical size.
