Von Richthofen and Brown

Manfred von Richthofen - The Red Baron is an American feature film from 1971 about the life of Baron Manfred von Richthofen. The locations were in Dublin and at Weston Aerodrome in Leixlip, County Kildare (Ireland). The total budget was $ 900,000.

Action

Von Richthofen, who takes over from its predecessor Squadron Boelcke, does not believe in the Tarnungsvorschriften. His chivalrous ideal is equivalent to more that one confronts the enemy openly, so he leaves his aircraft strikingly colorful paint. His squadron has been nicknamed the "Flying Circus ", von Richthofen is due to its noble title, his moral orientation and named because of the red paint his plane " The Red Baron".

The enemy is initially impressed by the brave blunt appearance of the German squadron. But in the course of the war the gallant fighting spirit here is also lost and the murderous brutality occurs more often in the foreground. Von Richthofen is with his attitude increasingly alone there, and is even questioned by his comrades more and more. On the opposing side, meets von Richthofen to the like-minded Canadian pilot Roy Brown, who makes the fight against von Richthofen and the victory over him as his personal goal.

Criticism

" Awe-inspiring aerial photographs. "

" 2007 was with " The Red Baron " again an action adventure about the legendary fighter pilot, but which does not reach the quality of Corman's version."
