Vonda N. McIntyre

Vonda N. McIntyre ( born August 28, 1948 in Louisville, Kentucky, United States) is an American science fiction writer.

Life

She studied biology (focus on genetics) at the University of Washington. In 1970 she attended the Clarion workshop for aspiring science fiction writer part. In the same year her first short story ( Breaking Point ) was published. For her story Of Mist, and Grass and Sand ( German: The snake or mist and grass and sand) she received in 1973 her first Nebula Award. In 1978 she expanded the story to her most successful novel Dream Snake ( German: dream snake), which won both the Nebula Award, the Hugo Award and the Locus Award and was translated into 13 languages. Her first novel, The Exile Waiting ( German: The ashes of the earth) was published in 1975 with the novel The Moon and the Sun ( German: At the court of the Sun King ). They could Nebula Award in 1997 her third win. Commercially successful were some of you wrote Star Trek and Star Wars novels.
