Voßmecke

The Voßmecke, sometimes also called Vossmecke, is a 2.8 km long, orographic left tributary of the Ruhr in North Rhine-Westphalia Winterberg, Germany.

Geography

The Voßmecke rises about 1.5 kilometers east of Silbach on the eastern flank of cow mountain at an altitude of 690 m above sea level. NN. Mainly in northeastern directions by a uninhabited valley flowing down the creek flows to 584 m above sea level. NN in the Ruhr. With a height difference of 106 m, the average bed slope between the source and mouth of 37.9 ‰. The 3.612 km ² large catchment area is drained by Ruhr and Rhine to the North Sea.

Nature and Environment

The headwaters of the Voßmecke is on the slope bog " Add to withdrawing ." In this marshy slopes arise from several Quellrinnsale. The area is since 1957 in changing boundaries, currently 49.8 ha, " Add to withdrawing " protected as a nature reserve. Meanwhile, as FFH ( DE 4717-311 ) are reported with the same name.
