Voxtrot

Voxtrot was an American indie pop band from Austin, Texas. The band was founded by Ramesh Srivastava, Jason Chronis, Matt Simon, Mitch Calvert and Jared Van Fleet. Largely responsible for music and lyrics was Ramesh Srivastava, who has worked as a solo artist now.

Band History

The band produced their first EP in 2003 Raised By Wolves as a home-burned CD who received some independent record stores in Austin in their range and sold. In 2005, the EP was then sold by Cult Hero Records. The following five songs comprehensive EP Mothers, Sisters, Daughters & Wives Voxtrot brought out on 4 April 2006. After the band was changed that same year to Playlouderecordings, already the next EP was released on 7 November with Your Biggest Fan. End of May 2007 was released with the album Voxtrot the first album of the band, which received very good reviews.

In the U.S., Voxtrot has been much praise from online and print media receive such as Spin and Pitchfork Media. The greatest success of the band was previously No. 4 on the Billboard Hot Single Sales with Your Biggest Fan But in Europe, we have become aware of the band, so that the group could go in summer 2007 in the Old World on tour and in the UK Indie chart with Firecracker least Rank 19 achieved. After a long period without releases published in 2009, the single Trepanation Party as a download. In the same year the band Berlin, Without Return brought out another single.

On 21 April 2010 Ramesh Srivastava announced the dissolution of the band after a short U.S. farewell tour.
