Vraignes-en-Vermandois

Vraignes -en- Vermandois ( Picard: Vraigne -in- Vérmindoé ) is a commune with 162 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Somme in the Picardie region of northern France. The municipality belongs to the canton Roisel and is part of the Communauté de communes du canton de Roisel.

Geography

The community lies in the Vermandois 7 km south of Roisel at the department D15 road and just north of the department of Road 1029 ( former Route nationale 29, part of the system of Chaussée Brune skin). The southern boundary of the municipality forms part of the border to the Aisne.

History

The municipality received the Croix de guerre as a distinction from 1914 to 1918.
