Vrhpolje, Serbia

Vrhpolje (Cyrillic: Врхпоље ) is a village in western Serbia, near the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Geography and population

The village lies in the Opština Ljubovija, in Okrug Mačva. The place had in the census 2002 985 inhabitants, while in 1034 there were inhabitants in 1991. After the last three population statistics, the population of Vrhpolje to fall. The village consists of 316 households.

The population represent 99% Serbs. In addition, but also live three Montenegrins, a Slovenian, a Hungarian and an Albanian in place. The village of 316 households.

Vrhpolje together with Crnča one of the two largest villages of Opština. The village is situated near the banks of the Drina. Vrhpolje lies south of the capital Ljubovija.
