VysoÄina (Chrudim District)
Highlands is a municipality in Okres Chrudim, Czech Republic. December 31, 2008 698 inhabitants lived here.
Geography
Highlands is located on the river Chrudimka between Trhová Kamenice and Hlinsko on the Bohemian- Moravian Highlands, on the border between the Iron Mountains and the Saarer mountains. Through the town the road runs II/343.
History
The oldest mention of the village of St. Nicholas was around 1350. Rwatschow was the parish to Kamnitz beginning of the 19th century. There were 1837 there 31 houses with 230 inhabitants and a school.
The allodial Freihammer and Drschewikau were sold in 1801 by Johann Norbert Mary of Pötting and Persing to Franz Xaver pound Heller.
