W. E. Butler

Walter Ernest Butler ( * 1898, † 1978) was an English parapsychologist, magician, occultist and writer.

Butler, known to his friends, " Ernie ", was born in East Yorkshire as a child of a large family with many siblings. In England he devoted himself to occult studies as a member of Dion Fortune's " Fraternity of the Inner Light ", in which he was initiated in 1930. Butler was also a pupil of parapsychologists Robert King.

In 1965 Butler founded the occult school " Servants of the Light School of Occult Science ", abbreviated SOL mentioned. Until shortly before his death, he was the first investigator of the SOL

His books are in professional circles today as a classic in the field of occultism.
